This is a scene from the Taos Pueblo. It’s a 20 by 24 inch oil painting. This painting was done in the studio.
Two of my paintings that were juried into “A Russian Night in Taos” Exhibition and Auction at Taos Art Museum at Fechin House, Taos, New Mexico. Exhibition June 30 to August 28 with auction occurring August 29th. This is a benefit for the Taos Art Museum. Both paintings are 12 by 16 inch oil paintings. The cattle scene is just north of Antonito, CO. The other is set in the Ghost Ranch area of New Mexico.
This is a 24″ by 18″ painting of the San Francisco de Asis Church located in Taos, New Mexico. This church has been photographed and painted many times. Ansel Adams has photographed this church twice that I know about. I am attracted to the simple form of the back view. If you visit you will find that the foreground is a parking lot with large stones to protect the church from trafic. I visualized the church as it might have appeared 100 years ago with native sage brush.
