This is the second painting set in the Four Rivers Wildlife Area, Rich Hill, Missouri. This wildlife area is a major habitat area for migratory ducks.

These are two 12″ by 16″ oil paintings completed in the studio in the last two days.
New Paintings Influenced by Van Gogh
This week I did these thee paintings attempting to show some characteristics in style influenced by Van Gogh. These oil paintings are all 16 by 20 inches on board. These are my original scenes with some influences in color and brush strokes.

Open Studio Friday Evening and Saturday
The Livestock Exchange Building, 1600 Genessee, Kansas City, MO is having an open studio event. About 20 artists, including myself, are having open Studios Friday April 13, 5 PM to 9 PM and Saturday 11PM to 5PM. I’m on the 8th floor in Suite 804.

Paintings Accepted into “Flora” Art Show at Vanessa Lacy Gallery
I’m honored to have three of my paintings accepted into the “Flora” group art show at the Vanessa Lacy Gallery. The gallery is located on the first floor of the Livestock Exchange Building, 1600 Genessee, Kansas City, MO (that’s in the west bottoms). Enter the building in the center rear door. The group opening is February 9th, 5-9pm with art, live music, and refreshments. Normal gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday 10AM – 6PM and Saturday 10AM – 3PM.
My paintings are of prairie wild flowers. They show the helter skelter mixture of wild flowers and grasses in native Missouri prairies. Two paintings are of restored prairie wild flowers done in plein air at the James A. Reed Wildlife Area and one is a painting of wild flowers in Missouri’s Prairie State Park.

Paintings in Vanessa Lacy Gallery Small Works Show
These three paintings are in the Vanessa Lacy Gallery Small Works Show, 12/8/17 – 1/6/18. The gallery will be having a opening reception on the December 8th second Friday. The reception will feature Celia Albon on the harp and bear from Stockyards Brew Company. The Vanessa Lacy Gallery is located at 1600 Genessee Street, Suite 161, Kansas City, Mo.
